But you know what? I AM a complete fail. Wahaaay! That been accepted, I'm simply going to tell you guys my fails, and you can do with them what you will. :P
This fail is fairly recent, and has been on my mind a lot recently, so..here you go.
Lemme set the scene..It's around 2:30 in the morning, and I suppose my brain is slightly sleep-deprived. I have been reading by torch light, but because I failed to put new batteries in it, it quickly runs out. And so I figure, that I might as well turn my lamp on.
Now, my lamp is at the foot of my bed, on the floor. It is one of those lamps that you can bend it around, and all that jazz. So somewhere in my sleep-deprived mind, I remember that about two weeks ago, I had left my lamp on, then accidentally knocked it into my duvet, and boom..there's a burnt hole in the cover. So I remember not to do this, and deliberately bend the lamp as far away from the duvet as it can get, so it is directly facing the floor.
I then leave it there, to go to the bathroom.
When I came back, it must have been..a good 20 or so minutes when I just sat on my bed and..randomly stared into space. (Yes. I do this.) But it slowly comes to my attention that I can smell..burning.
So all super-power epic-ninja like, I leapt over to where my lamp was, so find..not just a burn mark where the lamp may have accidentally knocked into something, but.. fire. Yes. My floor was actually on fire.
I chucked some water on it, and panicked for a bit, but eventually it went out, leaving a literally massive black mark on my floor. But I knew, especially after the duvet incident, that I could not tell my parents.
And so that is why there is now a fire mark on my floor covered up by..yes. My lamp.
